It has been a long time since I displayed a "picture of the month", partly because there has been a backlog of material I have needed to photograph before showing it. The item here is one of a continuing series of watercolours undertaken during the recent winter. The subject (one of my continuing favourites) is the famous Almscliff Crag, and although I have normally been a fair-weather visitor, as a climber, it has given me a great deal of pleasure to attempt to capture what John Nash called the "spirit of the place" in winter.
