About Me![]() John Allcock For many years my artistic impulses had to be sublimated to a great extent through the design of display material. I took early retirement from the University of Bradford in July 2001, largely in order to paint and to climb. Since retirement I have continued to study part-time. Until that change of career my artistic output largely took the form of figurative paintings and drawings interpreting religious themes. More recently I have turned to landscape drawing and painting, although the underlying preoccupation with spirituality remains clearly present. Membership of AssociationsI am a member of Fabric (the forum for the arts in Bradford) and The South Square Centre and a founder member of the Unit 9 gallery. I am also a member of the organising committee of The Great North Art Show, Ripon. www.fabric—artsforum.org.uk www.southsquarecentre.co.uk Publications
